I’ve Noticed

We went out for Chinese last night and usually if it's Chinese I leave feeling so stuffed I can barely breathe. Not only that it was buffet so normally I fill up at least 2 plates, not counting dessert. I noticed that after I finished one plate (which I didn't pile up, just took a little of the few things I wanted) that I was full.

I was almost disappointed because you know, it's buffet and you want to get your money's worth. Also, I don't do Chinese often so I want to really enjoy it. In my mind to really enjoy it this means to stuff my face until I can't look at another crab rangoon again.

Nope, instead I had 1 crab rangoon, a small amount of lomein, a couple tiny chicken fingers and some general gao's. When I really looked at it all realistically I was ok with how little I ate, in fact I soon felt pretty impressed with myself.

I mentioned to my husband how little I ate and he said he'd noticed lately my portions were getting smaller, that I more often don't finish what is on my plate.

This is a good sign I think, I do think I'm less hungry than I was a few weeks ago. I have not weighed myself but then I don't want to ruin the optimism just yet.

That is a wonderful thing to notice. Buffets don’t interest us anymore either… we just can’t eat that amount of food anymore! Well done!

in the end I think it was a good thing actually, i only ate what I wanted and didn’t bring any food home to eat later.
