Jello and Asthma

In the end these things matter most: How well did you love? How fully did you live? How deeply did you let go? — Siddhārtha Gautama
Lime Jello Cottage Cheese Salad I know this sounds weird but you have to trust me on this. You can make this very lowfat and no sugar if you want. If you like lime jello and you like cottage cheese you will like this. It looks weird but tastes great. As far as that recipe I personally don't use nuts or cool whip, I don't find it necessary and the nuts sound weird. I use sugar free lime jello as well and one could use fresh pineapple if you want. Asthma Went for another bike ride and didn't bring my inhaler, I always forget it. I have exercise induced asthma, which has always caused me a lot of grief but if I have my inhaler and just take my time I can get past it. The weather and my allergies can make it worse. Clothing I ordered new clothes for work from Old Navy (during the summer we get to dress down) because I don't fit in 90% of my clothes. I can't afford new clothes but mentally I can't afford to wear clothes that don't fit either and make me miserable. I only got 2 pairs of pants and I ordered them online so I hopefully don't have to get them hemmed. Protein Minus Sugar I've been focusing lately a lot on eating extra protein, trying to eat protein with every single meal and cutting out a lot of sugar. The sugar part is a lot harder, right now it's TOM (time of the month) and I'm craving sugar constantly. As long as I keep doing a little bit better over time I'm happy with myself. Yogurt I love yogurt, with strawberries and nutty stuff. Why can't I seem to keep it at home so I can bring it into work? Instead I keep buying it. Must make a trip to the grocery store.

I went through the exact same thing with clothes just a few weeks ago. Part of the reason I hadn’t been leaving the apartment is because the only clothes that fit me were 1 or 2 pairs of ratty gym shorts and ratty yoga pants. Like I’d want to go out to dinner — or anywhere — wearing those! It was Brian who pointed this out; I was reluctant about buying new clothes because it meant having to accept my weight gain, but at least now I’m out and about. I went to Old Navy, too! :)

@Barb, yeah, wanting to leave the house is definitely a good thing.

    Hi Robin,
Nice page! That salad sounds great, too bad it has gelatin in it though, so I can’t make it for my very veggie hubby. :)

  4. Back in the days when I still ate dairy I would make this same lime Jell-o and cottage cheese salad, Robin. There’s also another version using fat-free/sugar-free pistachio-flavored pudding mix instead of the gelatin. Mmm…so good!

I think you’re absolutely right about needing some clothes that fit. It makes a positive difference in our daily outlook.

Love the quote at the top of your post. :-)

  5. The bigger I got the less clothes I had, until finally I gave in and made some jumpers. They still weren’t great, but at least they fit me.

As I lost weight, clothes went from being a major source of depression to fun again! I hope your new ones fit perfectly!

@Diane, Fit to the Finish, yeah, buying newer bigger clothes is like admitting to being a bigger size, i put it off forever but now i have to face reality. i miss buying new smaller clothes, someday!
