Tired and a Little Broken

The visit from my Canadian buddy was awesome, I haven't laughed so hard in a very long time. We kept really busy for a lot of it. Friday we went to Worcester and saw The Men Who Stare At Goats (because we love Kevin Spacey) and went to a favorite cafe of mine.

Then Saturday we spent the entire day in Boston and got lost at least a couple times. One of those times may have been my fault because I wanted to find this awesome restaurant but then when we finally found it there was a 40 minute wait. Unfortunately for me I didn't properly prepare for the walking. I had on good shoes but I did not trim my toenails and was in excrutiating pain, I can't even describe it. Now my 2 big toes are still in pain because of the nail issue.

Another medical problem of mine has come back, not sure what to do, but I'm slightly out of commission for a short time right now. I hope this doesn't last long, my energy is shot. I will really miss my awesome friend, we had such a great time, but I am happy to get back to that which is my life.

I've missed you all too.

So happy to hear you enjoyed her visit, but sad to hear about the medical thing. I can imagine how disappointed and frustrated you are, but please don’t let it wear ya down. Sounds like it might be something temporary, which is good. I’m cheering you on, Robin…and sending good thoughts your way!!

@josie, thanks so much. it’s nothing serious, it sounds more serious than it is, just really irritating.

  2. I am glad you had a good visit, I just wish it wasn’t accompanied by a medical issue. Whatever it is, take care of yourself. Also, take care of those feet. When they hurt, the whole body seems to join in.

@South Beach Steve, my feet have driven me crazy my whole life, they are really petite and delicate, they don’t like any shoes and don’t like pressure. i suppose i can understand that.

  3. I missed reading your thoughts while you were gone! In fact last night I was clicking around and popped over here to see how you were, and then I remembered that your friend was visiting.

I’ve only been to Boston once, and unfortunately it was only to drive through! I’d love to go back.

I hope you feel better soon, and that your toes get better to!

Yay! I’m so glad you had fun! So what if you got lost? I’m sure she had a blast. :-)

You know, one of my big toenails tore (again, it finally grew out) because of that hours-long tour of the campus we visited. Apparently, the pedicurist didn’t file them down enough. My feet were killing me and my pedicure is…well, not completely ruined. It’ll be nice to see my regular nail tech next month.

And what a relief that I’m not the only one with toenail/walking issues! :-D
