I’ve been trying really hard to track what I’ve been eating and I use DailyPlate in case any of you use it. It’s the closest thing I can really have to a nutritionist but if I had a bunch of extra money I’d hire my own nutritionist.

I have been wanting to post a list of what I eat again for a while but everytime either I don’t finish my list in it’s entirety OR I am so ashamed by how bad it looks that I don’t. The problem is, how can I ever learn if I am not honest with every little thing I eat? In fact, as I was posting this I realized I had forgotten my exercise and the beer I had.

I realize the Burger King, Smartfood and Reeses were not good choices. I will say though I have been good about sugary treats lately and this was just a little something I needed. In retrospect, I knew better I should have had 1 reeses not 2.

I got the Burger King because I had to go out to the doctors at lunch to get my blood drawn and it was right next door. It was either that or come back and have a frozen lunch, which is much less appealing.

The Smartfood was one of those instances where I was on my hour plus drive home and bored and hungry. I really need to keep more snacks in the car.

So for better or for worse, here was my food from yesterday.

  1. I really do feel that tracking your food is a really good way to see where those calories are coming from. Then you can do like you did and analyze what you might want to change.

The Burger King wasn’t terrible – I didn’t see that you added large fries, a milkshake and a regular coke with them like I would have! So not too bad in my book!

@Diane Fit to the Finish, yeah I’ve never gone overboard like that in fact, only years ago I wanted nothing to do with fastfood. I still won’t eat McDonalds.

200 kcal in 20 minutes of exercise? Pardon me for being a bit skeptical, is that also from Daily Plate? Seems a bit high, but maybe it’s really high impact.

@julie, I didn’t even notice, I have no idea how any of that works I just wanted it to be included, it’s obviously off. I try to use DailyMile.com to track my workouts.

  3. I agree with Diane, tracking your food is a great way to stay on track. It helps us to be honest with ourselves about what we’ve consumed. Anytime I feel like my eating habits are getting skewed, I go back to tracking my eats.

@Jess (Fit Chick in the City), it’s so much easier these days than it was 5-10 years ago too. Now we don’t have to lookup calories and write it all down, but somehow I still can’t do it as loyally as I want to.
