Turbo Jam

I got these workout dvds a long time ago and I don’t even remember how I first heard of them. I decided to give them another go since I remember all those years ago I really enjoyed them.

So I started doing it again and it’s so much fun. One thing important I find about workout videos is A. you need to not feel like it’s a chore and B. the moves can’t be so complicated that you can’t keep up. This isn’t the case with Turbo Jam, it’s really fun, a really good workout I think and the moves are easy.

I needed something to kick my butt this winter but not something I would get sick of and I hope that Turbo Jam gets the job done.

I totally agree that it can’t be too complicated. This one looks TONS easier than the step class at my gym that thankfully, I only watched and didn’t participate in. It’s weird that I’m really well coordinated in somethings but a total klutz in others, and things like this is one of them!

@Barb, I used to be a lot more coordinated many years ago, I look dance classes and all. I think my weight and the fact I dance a lot less has impeded it.

@Robin, oh, I didn’t realize that. Though I should’ve because you were color guard, right? I guess when we haven’t done something in a long time, we wouldn’t pick up from where we left off (too bad — LOL). I know if I hit the ice and played goal this afternoon, aside from probably pulling a muscle, I’d definitely be much slower and less coordinated.

  2. That looks like a fun workout video. I need ones that won’t cause the neighbors downstairs or next door to yell at me. Our apt. walls are so thin I can hear a neighbor sneeze if I don’t have TV or music on.

  4. I can’t dance, can’t even pretend to dance or move really gracefully so I totally would need these kinds of easy to follow DVD’s that really do give a great workout!

I bought these years ago, too, and only cracked ‘em open a couple of months ago. Unfortunately, the combination of all the bouncing (killed my knees) and my innate NEED for getting it on the first try (killed my pride) made me stop after the first try… *blush*

Now, Billy Blanks (original) Tae Bo? I can do that one in my sleep! ;)

@Chibi Jeebs, that sucks, i’m not bouncing too much yet, i’m not at that stage yet.

@Robin, I had actually tweeted about it after trying it: imagine my shock (and embarrassment) when Chalene tweeted back telling me that I didn’t need to bounce – to watch one of the women in the back (can’t remember which side now!) because she did it all without bouncing. I still didn’t try it again simply because like a felt like a big, bumbling, uncoordinated oaf. *blushes again*
