I’ve been trying really hard to track what I’ve been eating and I use DailyPlate in case any of you use it. It’s the closest thing I can really have to a nutritionist but if I had a bunch of extra money I’d hire my own nutritionist.

I have been wanting to post a list of what I eat again for a while but everytime either I don’t finish my list in it’s entirety OR I am so ashamed by how bad it looks that I don’t. The problem is, how can I ever learn if I am not honest with every little thing I eat? In fact, as I was posting this I realized I had forgotten my exercise and the beer I had.

I realize the Burger King, Smartfood and Reeses were not good choices. I will say though I have been good about sugary treats lately and this was just a little something I needed. In retrospect, I knew better I should have had 1 reeses not 2.

I got the Burger King because I had to go out to the doctors at lunch to get my blood drawn and it was right next door. It was either that or come back and have a frozen lunch, which is much less appealing.

The Smartfood was one of those instances where I was on my hour plus drive home and bored and hungry. I really need to keep more snacks in the car.

So for better or for worse, here was my food from yesterday.

I wish I had a picture but I don't so instead you get a picture of my girl Aurora licking her lips.

A really easy, quick and healthy breakfast I like to have sometimes is what I will call the Waffle and Raspberries Sandwich. I know, it sounds strange but it's really simple. I toast up 2 nutri-grain blueberry waffles, heat up some frozen raspberries and make a sandwich out of it.

No sugar added. You can eat it with one hand and it's filling if you use waffles with a lot of fiber. I'm still on the hunt to find the perfect waffles, I like what Trader Joe's has but they aren't convenient for me to go to.

I also want to mention, although I'm hesitant because I'm afraid this is a fluke, but I've lost a few pounds. I don't know exactly how many because the last time I was weighed was at the doctors and my scale is always different than theirs. I seem to have lost what I think is between 3-5 lbs.

I haven't really changed anything, not that much, I think I've just been focusing on food less and life more. That always seems to work for me, the more I worry about food the more I seem to lose control. I'm also right now back on medication I had stopped taking months ago, more on that another time.

But yay, it feels good to feel a little more control of my own world. Losing control of your world is excrutiating, no matter what it is. We can't make everything exactly the way we want it to be but we like to have a little bit of a say from time to time.

Thanks everyone for your support!!!

Sugar and I are not friends, not at all. Yes, I keep going back but I always regret it. If I could find a way to cut out 90% of the sugar from my life I know this would make living so much better.

When I eat something saturated in sugar, like a pastry or a piece of cake or candy, I get very sick. I get lightheaded and dizzy and often pass out. When I wake up after having passed out I have a hangover. I usually have to eat something immediately, which only makes me feel worse. I have a similar reaction to too many starches like pasta or cereal.

This is something I've gotten a lot of control over. I don't eat nearly as much sugar and white flour as I used to. I now prefer wheat bread over white. I now actually am not much of a fan of cake, I think all the times the frosting has litterally gone to my head eventually turned me off almost entirely.

I use a lot less sugar in my coffee than I used to. I'd say for an average coffee cup I used to put in 4 sugars. I sometimes use Splenda but I'm not that big of a fan, I'm trying to just use less and less regular sugar until I need barely any at all. I love adding flavor to my coffee.

I am however trying to find alternatives to sugar, other than fake sugar. I have found often plain fruit is sweet enough for me, I love adding raspberries to just about everything.

So what else do you use to add a little bit of sweet to something?

Did I mention I am a picky eater? I've always been, since I was little. I hate meatloaf, fat on meat, skin on meat, meat and cheese together and so on. As i've grown up I've learned that I actually like scallops, peas, beans, fish, Tai food and brussel sprouts, most in thanks to my husband who loves a wide variety of food like I've never seen.

Well now that I'm on this journey to eat better, to feel better and to be a better version of myself I've been trying new things. Sometimes I'll try something and it's just not for me but then there is the occasional time I find something healthy that I fall madly in love with.

A little while back I was complaining to a friend how much I love a good burger but the meat itself is so fattening. She suggested buffalo meat and I scoffed (to myself) that this sounded weird. I mentioned it to my husband and he ran out and got some (without asking picky ol me). He cooked me up a burger on a whole wheat bun and you know what? It was delicious! In fact, I found it way more tasty than a regular old cow burger.

I love shopping at Trader Joe's and about everytime I go (every other month usually as it's out of the way on my drive home) I try something new. This time I got the Greek Style Honey Yogurt and wholy hell it was SO yummy. Granted, I got the regular kind not the lowfat but the taste was so subtle and perfect.

It was not too sweet but just enough flavor to rock my world.

My world was rocked by greek yogurt and I'm good with that!

Why is there so much sugar in everything?? Is it so wrong to want some lowfat, high fiber and minimal sugar snacks? Why is it that when they make a product that is low in fat and high in fiber they seem to up the sugar.

I love Fiber One bars, they are convenient and taste good but there could be so much less sugar. I'm trying really hard not to crave sugar so much but it's hard to find convenient sweet snacks that aren't loaded with it.

I checked out the isle of similar bars and I couldn't find a bar with less than 7 grams of sugar. Not one. I know a lot of times they put in a lot more fake sugar but why must everything be so sweet?

I feel the same about yogurt. I want a yogurt that is very low on sugar but with no fake sugar either. I've never been able to find it.

Seems to me I should probably make my own food from scratch, which seems like a lot of time and money. With the life I have I tend to need convenient and cheap as often as I can.

Plus, I want to share another lesson I learned yesterday, one I've learned before and never can seem to remember when it counts. Here is my tweat:

I haven't slept well the past couple nights, I don't know why but because of the lack of sleep I am waking up late and not making the best choices. Whenever I'm dead tired in the morning and in a rush I tend to get myself a vanilla latte at Starbucks, it's not the healthiest or the cheapest option.

Everyday I say I'm going to get up at 5:30 so I'll have time to do everything I need to do but then I end up getting up at 6:00 instead, getting stuck in the later traffic and being late for work. Welcome to The Reasons Why Robin Can't Get Her Shit Together.

I used to need to eat a lot more than this but I've cut down on my servings, not that it's helped me lose any weight.

Today I am going to NY (Long Island) to visit a friend I haven't seen in approx. 4 years. Last time I saw her was her wedding and now she has 2 kids. She didn't come to my wedding, which I'm still struggling with forgiving her for but I do still love her.

I am anxious (I have an anxiety disorder) about seeing her also because she's always been in really good shape and really beautiful, I've always been the fat friend even when I wasn't. I am afraid she'll be shocked when she sees me how much weight I've gained, this is something I struggle with everytime I go to see an old friend.

I'm going anyway, despite my fears. I'm bringing my camera, which has become like my protective shield.
